Whole Language Teaching

The curriculum mainly uses the whole language teaching to build children’s ability to listen, speak, read and write, and to develop children's reading ability, interest and habits through Chinese and English storybooks.  Connecting with life experiences through stories and then use themes, including language, mathematics, nature and life, and interpersonal interaction.

Project-Exploring Teaching Approach

The project approach used in our centre is children-centered, starting from the child’s interest in guiding them to observe problems, ask questions, collect data, discuss, analyze and summarize, this could build the problem solving ability and cultivate them to have multi-perspective thinking.

Montessori Teaching Approach

The Montessori teaching philosophy focuses on early childhood practical life training including: caring for yourself, caring for others, and caring for the environment.  The aim is to train children's order, concentration and independence, as well as to develop personal values and willpower.  Being able to do things for yourself, so as to gain a sense of success and self-confidence, to have the responsibility and perseverance to complete their work and to build a perfect personality.  At the same time, Montessori teaching aids are used for children to master the senses and mathematical concepts.

Perceptual Motor Activities

The school emphasizes children to acquire knowledge and skills through multisensory strategies and practice, and to promote healthy growth of their brains and minds. Through daily activities such as self-care, physical activities, and manipulating teaching aids, children have sufficient opportunities for sensory exploration and muscle control.  Together with the "Perception Motor Parenting Home Activities Kit", our children can on the one hand build self-confidence, basic understanding and concepts at school, and on the other hand, can enhance the learning interest and the parent-child relationship through companion of parents.

Emotion Education

Our centre focuses on the emotion development of children and therefore implements a children emotion development plan.  Parents are encouraged to participate in learning of children to recognize, express and manage emotions.  Every child is expected to affirm their own value, develop a positive self-image, show concern and love for the community they are in, and use positive emotions to promote learning and development.

"Leap!" Body Education Programme

In 2009, our centre has become the partner school of the “Leap!” Body Education, which is founded by The Robert H.N. Ho Family Foundation and the Cloud Gate Dance School.  The core thinking of the "Leap!" programme is to let each child start by knowing his own body, and knowing himself in the process of "playing", exploring the world, and learning to respect and care for others through physical education and life interaction.  The "Leap!" programme is an educational platform for the health, happiness and growth of young children; through a sound system, the goal of achieving physical and mental integration would be achieved.

Language Enrichment Programme

Our school promotes language enrichment programmes (English and Mandarin) for nursery class students, and are taught by foreign teachers.  Through interesting activities such as stories, singing, games, phonics and pinyin activities, etc, children's interest in learning English and Mandarin would be enhanced in such natural environment.
