In 2013, the TWGHs Child Development Resource Centre was established in the vicinity of TWGHs Kwan Fong Nursery School. It further provides parenting education activities and parenting counseling services to families with infants aged between 0 and 6 within the district, so as to achieve the objectives of early recognition, intervention and quality nurturing.

Service Introduction

 

Parent-child Programme

Children and parents who have not entered school aged from 1 to 3 are able to apply the “Parent-child Programme”.  Lunch service are provided so as to promote parents-child interaction and communication skill, enhancing parental effectiveness by teaching parents parenting skills and improving their confidence in nurturing.  It is important to inspire their creative thinking and whole-person development in order to grasp the golden age of children's physical and mental development.

Training Subsidy

In December 2011, the Community Care Fund launched the "Training Subsidy for Children who were on the Waiting List of Subvented Pre-school Rehabilitation Services" (TSP) to provide training subsidy for low-income families who are on the waiting list for subsidized pre-school rehabilitation services. "Growing with Self-Esteem - A Parent Education Project"

The TWGHs Kwan Fong Nursery School has prepared a parent-child project “Growing with Self-Esteem - A Parent Education Project” in a total of 20 sections, compiled by the senior social workers and educational psychologists of the TWGHs.  Each section consists of  short articles, comics and parent-child activities.  The purpose is to enable parents establishing close relationships with their children, master their discipline and develop their self-esteem and self-confidence.
